New Creative and Design Agency Framework

The University of Warwick has a new Creative and Design Agency Framework in place.

Under this framework, a small number of specialist agencies have been appointed across defined service areas.

The framework has been developed collaboratively across the University to ensure confidence in quality, value for money, and breadth of expertise, while supporting consistent application of the Warwick brand.

What types of work does the framework cover?

The framework is structured into a number of service areas (lots), reflecting the different types of creative services commissioned across the University. The framework covers all five of the below lots.

While the number of agencies within each lot is intentionally small, they have been selected to complement each other and collectively cover the breadth of creative needs across Warwick. You can read more about the agencies within the lots in the Frameworks section of the Brand Portal. Further detail on how to engage agencies within the lots is provided in the Buyers Guide, available on the procurement webpages. You will need your Warwick single sign-on (SSO) details to access this information.

Strategic projects requiring creative thinking and problem-solving, such as brand awareness and student recruitment campaigns, commercial marketing, and internal stakeholder engagement campaigns.

Professional design to communicate visual information clearly, including reports and publications, infographics, campaign materials, exhibition and environmental graphics.

Filmed, animated and motion graphic content, including campaign films, adverts, and supporting video assets.

Photography to support marketing and communications across various channels, including campaign imagery, portraiture, sports, food, and campus photography.

Written content to support marketing and communications, including campaign copy, messaging, web and email content, case studies, and scripts.

This framework is not only for ‘marketing’ work

The Creative and Design Agency Framework applies to all creative and design activity across the University, not only marketing campaigns. Examples of work that should be commissioned via the framework include:

  • Designing a PDF report or publication.
  • Creating infographics or visualisations to bring data to life.
  • Developing creative assets to support communications or change programmes.

If you are commissioning creative or design work of any kind, this framework should be your first point of reference. All new creative and design work must be commissioned via the framework and follow the University’s Brand Governance process.
